2017 Autumn Budget Reveals No Rise in Insurance Premium Tax

The 2017 autumn budget was announced last week by the Chancellor of the Exchequer. In it were a host of measures aimed at keeping the UK economy buoyant as we head into the next phases of Brexit negotiations.

Despite widespread speculation of an increase in the Insurance Premium Tax (IPT), the Chancellor announced that there would be no rise. It will remain at the current rate of 12%. This decision was a relief to many in the insurance sector.
