Home Emergency insurance

Common emergencies such as burst pipes, blocked drains or boiler breakdown are covered in our Home Emergency policy. Our cover offers policyholders access to a 24-hour emergency helpline, meaning they should be able to get hold of approved tradesmen quickly and easily.

Whats covered by this policy

  • Plumbing and Drainage which has, or may result in internal water leakage, flooding or water damage to the Home. 
  • Electricity emergency arising from the sudden, unexpected and complete failure of the electricity system in the home. 
  • Security emergency arising from the sudden and unexpected failure of or damage to external locks fitted to doors and windows where the failure or damage is such so as to render the Home unsafe or insecure. 
  • Primary Heating System emergency arising from the sudden and unexpected complete failure of the primary heating system. We will only attend to one primary heating system failure during the period of cover in Your schedule. Before assistance can be provided, you must provide us with proof of servicing. Failure to service your primary heating system will result in your claim being denied. 
  • Lost Key / Lock Out emergency arising from the loss of the keys to your Home where you have lost the only available key to the home and are unable to replace it or gain normal access. 
  • Inoperable Toilet emergency which has arisen from the sudden and unexpected failure of the toilet within your Home which has resulted in internal water leakage, flooding or water damage to the home or which renders the toilet inoperable. 
  • Events where there is an inherent defect causing the Emergency. 
  • Repairs and servicing (where applicable) on systems where spare parts are no longer available. 
  • Claims for assistance caused by Your failure to carry out any remedial work or recommendations made by the approved engineer.
  • Any system, equipment or facility which has not been properly installed. 
  • Replacement of or adjustment to any decorative or cosmetic part of any equipment. 
  • The interruption or disconnection of utility services to the Home however caused, or the failure or breakdown of the main electricity or water or gas supply or gas leaks.
